Deutsche Bank’s sustainability strategy is based on the ten principles of the "Global Compact”, the UN initiative for social commitment in the global economy. As one of the founding members, we are committed to respecting and implementing these principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection, and fighting corruption.
We are aware that our business operations contain ecological, social and governance aspects that can both directly and indirectly affect our employees, clients, shareholders and society as a whole.

In implementing our sustainability management strategy in our daily business, we are guided by the so-called ESG (environmental, social, governance) principles.
Environmental and climate protection are among the most pressing global challenges of our time. The financial industry, as a provider of capital for investments and climate-protection projects, plays a key role in efforts to create a low-emission society. We want to contribute to solutions with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
For us, our responsibility as an employer is the most important social issue. We know that our success hinges on our employees, which is why we support their development, strengthen their abilities and aim to create the basis for a sound work-life balance. Equal opportunities and appreciating diversity are key principles in our human resources policy. We pay attention to human rights both within and without the bank and engage in a close dialog with our stakeholders.
In the area of governance, our goals are transparency, accountability and risk management. We are in full compliance with all requirements and continuously develop structures to ensure that we operate in a reliable and responsible manner.
