DWS Invest New Resources awarded as “Best Alternative Energy Fund” in 2010
At the Climate Change Awards 2010, DWS, already successful in each of the previous two years, was once again recognized for its climate change efforts.
The DWS Invest New Resources fund won the Climate Change Award as "Best Alternative Energy Fund". This category is open to mutual funds which invest at least 50% in their portfolio in alternative energy sources or companies involved in alternative energy processes. An independent judging panel analyzed 100 funds across six categories.
Nicolas Huber, Head of Green Investments at DWS and the portfolio manager responsible for DWS Invest New Resources, said: "This award and the continued recognition of DWS as a driving force for the theme, clearly demonstrates the superior positioning of the platform and our strong commitment to the Alternative Energy sector".
In addition DWS Investments was shortlisted as “Best Fund Management Group”.
The Climate Change Awards are organized by Investment Week magazine and wealth managers Holden & Partners. The awards ceremony was held on November 24th at the House of Commons in London.

Green investments: Nicolas Huber addresses UN experts in February 2010
Nicolas Huber, Head of Green Investments at DWS and manager of the DWS Zukunftsressourcen fund, is in demand as an expert in renewable technologies - known as green investments. In February, the United Nations invited him to address an expert meeting dealing with green and renewable technologies. In his address he emphasised the opportunities offered by the sector, including lower energy costs and a positive contribution to combating climate change. Using the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) as an example, he also called for improved political and legislative parameters which would provide investors with more planning certainty.
