Innovation and sustainability

With the support of Deutsche Bank a new stage is being opened in the development and use of renewable energy: the first round-the-world flight in an airplane powered solely by solar energy. As main partner of Solar Impulse we demonstrate the significance we place on innovation and sustainability.

Promoting innovation.

We are committed to supporting innovative solutions and Solar Impulse continues in this vein. Since the foundation of the bank we have made a large number of technological innovations possible - from support for railway construction, to developing new technologies in the field of electricity, the automobile and later in aviation. Today as a leading financial institution Deutsche Bank is involved throughout the world in many areas where innovative ideas are being implemented.

Ensuring sustainability.

Supporting a project which represents a revolution in the use of renewable energy and which aims to reduce emissions is of vital importance to Deutsche Bank. Responsibility for the environment represents an essential part of our philosophy. Ensuring sustainability for the future and acting responsibly today are inextricable values, which is why we pursue them determined. Our sustainability management system, for example, applies to all areas of business in which we are involved. Another example is our climate strategy, within the scope of which we contribute to the climate funds of the World Bank.

Mastering challenges.

Alongside the strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, our partnership with Solar Impulse displays a further common component: entrepreneurial risk linked to the determination to succeed. True to our claim “A Passion to Perform” we want to offer our clients the best solutions possible, through a combination of excellence, commitment, competence and drive. Our common goals of performance, innovation and sustainability display a remarkable similarity between the values and objectives of Solar Impulse and Deutsche Bank.
